About Me

Don Mulvaney has performed with many top artists such as Tony Bennett, Itzhak Perlman, Barbra Streisand, Maureen McGovern, jazz singer Mark Murphy, Melissa Manchester, Bill Frisell and Mike Stern. Don is currently on faculty at Fairfield University teaching drum-set in the Jazz Department under the direction of virtuoso bassist Brian Torff. Don has an M.F.A. in Composition from Purchase College and a B.M. in Composition from Berklee College of Music. Don's Broadway credits: The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Golden Land, On Second Avenue, Birds of Paradise, and Falsettos. Don was the drummer/vocalist with the legendary Boston based Orchestra Luna, fusion jazz groups Mistral and Two One Two, the Michael Gibbs Big Band, afro pop jazz group Further Notice and G.R.P. recording artist Deborah Henson-Conant. Don has composed and has been commissioned to write songs such as ; “Fugue”, for electronic music, “Introspect”, for solo piano, “String Quartet”, “Significance”, for jazz quintet, “Mountains”, “Nata Sonata”, “Dance” and “Silver Lake”. On the Urbnergy second CD he is the writer of “Hope” and “Calm”. .. ......
