About Me

Richard Okkerse was born October 1980 in the Netherlands wher he first started playing the guitar at th age of 10. After a couple of years he discovered Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and jazz guitar genius Wes Montgomery, who's music changed his life forever. From that moment on his passion for jazz grew bigger by the day. At the age of 17 he was accepted to the jazz studies program at the Conservatory of Amsterdam where he studied jazz guitar with Jesse van Ruller and Martijn van Iterson. Over the years he has performed and recorded throughout Europe as a leader and sideman. Recently his new CD entitled “That Old FeelinG” was released on the Portuguese Label “Numérica” http://www.numerica-multimedia.pt/
