About Me

Edward Bride is president and founder of Berkshires Jazz, Inc., whose mission is to present jazz performances and encourage jazz education in Berkshire County, Massachusetts.

Berkshires Jazz, Inc. was formed in 2009 by the committee who planned and organized the Pittsfield CityJazz Festival, an annual event that started in 2005.

In addition to his work as president of Berkshires Jazz, Inc., Edward Bride is president of the New England Jazz Alliance, which operates the New England Jazz Hall of Fame. A member of NEJA since its establishment in 2002, he was elected president in 2009. NEJA is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

He is also secretary of the New England Jazz Ensemble, a 16-piece big band based in central Connecticut. The non-profit band is chartered to perform new compositions written by its staff, which largely comprises jazz educators at the high school and college level.

Bride is also vice president of American Jazz Venues, a non-profit organization whose twofold mission is to grow new, younger audiences for jazz, and to create new opportunities for musicians to perform it.

Besides his pro-bono and volunteer work, Ed Bride is professional public relations consultant serving the high-tech industry. He is also chairman of Pittsfield's Artscape committee, which is responsible for arranging for displays of public sculptures throughout the downtown area.

In addition to his volunteer work with arts organizations, Ed Bride has served as an editor of two high-tech publications, Computerworld and Software Magazine. Since 1991, he has been a public relations consultant, working primarily with software companies that target the business market.
