Randy Poe is an author, music publisher, musician, and frequent writer of liner notes.

About Me

Since 1985, Randy Poe has been the President of Leiber & Stoller Music Publishing in Los Angeles. Prior to his position with Leiber & Stoller, he was Executive Director of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York.

A recipient of the ASCAP/Deems Taylor Award for his book, “Music Publishing: A Songwriter's Guide,” Poe's other books include “Squeeze My Lemon: A Collection of Classic Blues Lyrics,” “Skydog: The Duane Allman Story,” and “Stalking the Red Headed Stranger.” He also co-wrote “Buck 'Em! The Autobiography of Buck Owens.”

Poe is a Grammy-nominated record producer, and has been a guest speaker at music industry workshops and seminars in both the U.S. and Europe. He has also lectured at Harvard Law School, UCLA, and New York University, among others.

SiriusXM Elvis Radio's George Klein called Randy “The king of liner notes.” He has compiled albums and/or written liner notes for Warner Bros., Rhino, Sundazed, K-tel, Real Gone Music, Omnivore, Ace Records, Readers Digest, and others.

Randy Poe is a member of The Recording Academy, and is a past President of the California Copyright Conference. His extensive West Coast Jazz CD collection includes over 80 albums by Chet Baker.
