About Me

Formerly a music educator of 18 years, Andy has performed in big bands, combos, and pit orchestras on many instruments including trumpet, sax, clarinet, drums and bass guitar. He has a BFA-MFA from SUNY at Buffalo, and currently works since 1998 for Xerox Corporation.

My Jazz Story

We started in 2006 with the intention of playing big band charts from libraries with some real excitement - Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Gordon Goodwin, and we added vocals from Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr, and for Angie, Natalie Cole and others...we also added great horn band charts from the 60's to today. We're the ultimate 19-piece cover tune big band! We've played many local summer concert series and festivals throughout central NY, and some private parties and weddings. During the holidays we have performed free concerts at the two Rochester malls (Marketplace and Eastview), and now in Geneva for a benefit for "Thrive To Survive", who helps local cancer patients who are in need during the holidays. This "Holiday Spectacular" dance features great holiday charts from Tom Kubis, Gordon Goodwin, and some custom charts by our leader, Andy Stobie. And he sings some great vocals with our "lady of song', Angie Bemus. Come check us out, you won't be disappointed!
