Donna Bailey Vocalist, Recording Artist & Song Writer www.donnabaileyjazz.com Donna Bailey is best known as a vocalist, recording artist, songwriter and owner of DBS Productions. She calls Pittsburgh home, and performs nationally in festivals, theatres and corporate sponsored events. Donna is also a professional nurse, with a Master’s in Health Education. Her speaking engagements include the topics, Humor for the Health of It, How in Health Are You? and The Most Difficult Conversations You’ll Ever Have. Described by fans as being one of the most dynamic, entertaining vocalists on the music scene today, Donna brings a sophisticated “coolness” to the stage. Her sultry versions of Fever, Crazy & other tunes from the American Songbook, bring audiences to their feet. She was invited to perform for the legendary Dave Brubeck, in honor of his 86th birthday at the Manchester Craftsman’s Guild. She won "Entertainer of the Year" in 1991 by Promise Records (RCA) of New York, and she was nominated for an ASCAP award for her composition, “Charlie’s Place,” written for an off-Broadway production of “Harvey.” She has also appeared in numerous commercials (NFL with Jerome Bettis), billboards, magazines, and national ads. Television appearances include The Joe Franklin Show, Regis & Kathy Lee, and WQED’s “On Q.” Donna recently signed with High Note International for two compilation CDs, titled "Black Coffee" & “Jazz Café” Donna was inducted into the 2014 “Pittsburgh Jazz Hall of Fame.” She performs regularly with fellow musicians Joe DeFazio on piano, Jason Hollar on bass & Subha Das on drums.
