Via Mavis

Brought together by common background, studies and friendship Viktor Benev (MalletKAT and vibraphone), Martin Hafizi (drums) and Victoria Kirilova (double bass) founded the trio Via Mavis in early 2019. They have been touring since, Bulgaria being the most common destination. The band has played as soloists with the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band and has recorded for the same radio.

Via Mavis has performed at the most prestigious Bulgarian jazz festival A to Jazz, alongside musicians as José James and Bokanté (led by Snarky Puppy leader Michael League). It has been selected to represent Bulgaria at the Europe Jazz Network showcase in 2020.

After three years of working together, the Europe-based musicians have come forward with a debut album - Aerial Perspectives. Comprising of eight original compositions written by Kirilova and Benev, the discographic work displays various influences, spanning from jazz, traditional Bulgarian, neo-classical and electronic music.
