Lolita Treadwell
A native of Atlantic City, NJ, Lolita Waters Treadwell expressed her musical and entertaining aspirations at an early age. Growing up in a house filled with music gave Lolita, better known as “Fee-Fee”, a sense of musical enrichment. As the youngest of five, Lolita followed in the footsteps of her siblings by learning to play their musical instruments… the violin, flute, and piano.
All throughout her intermediate and highschool years, Lolita was active in local gospel choirs, dance clubs, and the theater. While in highschool, her talents afforded her local entertainment opportunities, such as performing on the March of Dimes telethon, and emerging as the choreographer of her high-school show choir.
In 1985, Lolita joined the US Armed forces, where she continued to grow as a musician by performing in the US Army Band and Choir, in Oahu, Hawaii. In addition, while Lolita stretched her musical talents to the realms of the theater, by landing a leading role in the hit musical “Ain’t Misbehavin.” Since returning to the area in 1997, Lolita, again landed a leading role in the musical “Razz Ma Tazz” and continues to pursue her musical endeavors in the theater and the jazz arena. Performing at various jazz festivals, community affairs, and area hot spots, with jazz artist and band leader, Tony Day and his Across the Globe Jazz Ensemble, Lolita has now set her sites on recording her first solo jazz project.
Lolita values her relationship with God as top priority in her life. Her motto is simply...” Apart from Him, I can do nothing.” Her most valued blessings would be her sons.
