Christopher Johnson

I grew up during the Golden Age of Hip Hop, Neo-Bop Jazz, & Neo Soul, in the 80's & 90's. I chose to go to music school, for some drum lessons in my teens, with well-known drum instructors, at the Collective School of Music, N.Y.C., and the Music Conservatory of Westchester, White Plain, NY.

Hard swinging and funky Neo-Bop & Post-Bop Jazz respectively, is the majority of my substantial music collection.  Lately I've been getting my Kick drum workouts, sycopation, and ghost-note technique together, listening and playing to lots of old Funk, Hip Hop classics, and plenty of Neo Soul.

I'd like to continue hitting up the great studios of southern Westchester County and Manhattan, with, a solid electric rhythm section, and talented & soulful vocalits & M.C.'s, to eventually, create our own great gigging Hip Hop / Neo soul band, similar to The Roots.
