About Me

Zoltan Szigeti is a Hungarian-born pianist, composer, and educator specializing in jazz. Recently, he has been working as a university faculty member in China - Associate Professor, and mentor at Berklee College of Music - Online Extension Schoo as well. Zoltan and his quartet have participated in numerous significant music performances, including jazz festivals, music festivals, and theater concerts. In addition to these group endeavors, Zoltan frequently showcases his talent as a solo jazz pianist, performing at various venues across Europe and China while collaborating with a diverse array of artists. Zoltan has also earned recognition as a skilled piano accompanist, selected as the touring pianist for several prominent singers. Notably, he was selected pianist of jazz vocalist Tina May's (UK) China Jazz Tour in 2019 and accompanied renowned American-Chinese opera singer Deng Gui Ping during her theater concert performances. As a bandleader (The Zoltan Szigeti Quartet), Zoltan recorded the album “Just Friends” 2023 (Starsing Records, Shanghai) and as a sideman (pianist) for the album CD “Jungle Lost” 2021 (Pollux Music-Label: Modern Sky). 2022 Zoltan perfomed and interviewd in the Yunnan TV in the program “Foreign experts in China”, and the YunLing Yout TV Channel. Zoltan's commitment to music education and inclusivity is evident in his role as a music director at the public elementary school “School for the Visually Impaired,” in Southwest China. Here, he composes piano and choral music specifically for visually impaired children, demonstrating his dedication to making music accessible to all.
