Yeray Jimenez

About Me

Bass player and composer, Yeray was born 1977 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. He began playing the electric bass at age 15 with several songwriters, rock , blues and reggae bands. In 2001 he moved to Madrid studying in Escuela Popular de Música y Danza with Guillermo Mcgill, Miguel Angel Chastang, José “Jato”Cerrato, Gustavo Gregorio, Bobby Martínez and Cheryll Walters. In 2004 Yeray received an international schoolarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2007. There he studied with Matt Garrison, Dave Santoro, Mitch Hauper, Oscar Stagnaro, Dave Samuels, Jeff Galindo, Ed Tomassi, Bruce Gertz , David Johnson... and masterclasses with Dave Holland, Ron carter, Marc Johnson, Yellowjackets, Antonio Sánchez, Michel Camilo, Joe Lovano... He has performed and worked with Dave Samuels, Ed Saindon, Jorge Pardo, Don Lappin, Isabelle olivier, Román Filiú , Albert sanz, Rita María , Dukaband (Gustavo gregorio, Federico Lechner,Marcelo Peralta,Joaquín Chacón, Cheryl Walters...) Guillermo Mcgill, Nacho Arimany, Inoidel González, Freedom Jazz Quartet, Dani Domínguez, Seydu.. ...
