I love jazz because... The music sets your mind free!
I was first exposed to jazz... When I was a young boy My father Played
John Coltrane .... Never forgot the sound of his saxophone
I met Jon Faddis in the late '80s Not only a great player but a wonderful teacher as well ... Dizzy would be proud.
The best show/Gig I ever attended was part of. Watching the Duke Ellington Orchestra under
his son Mercer in the 1980s What a Trumpet section!
The first jazz record I bought was... Grover Washington Jr.
My advice to new listeners... Listen to everything there is a whole
world of music to discover from Louis Armstrong to Weather Report it
will speak to you !
