I love jazz because...It brings me joy, and freedom. I was first exposed to jazz by a great saxophonist named Ramòn Morris formerly of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. I've met various top jazz musicians, Donald Harrison, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clark,,and the list goes on. I now hold down the bass position with, The Longwood Jazz Project, The Soulmine R&B Band, and The Harold Bogan Kool Jazz Band The best show I ever attended was Count Basie at The Stambaugh Auditorium, in Youngstown, Ohio The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners... Or whatever else you have in mind.
