Vivienne Aerts
Jazz singer, conductor and psychologist
About Me
I sing about water and soap, about roofgardens and musicians that met on a certain moment and time ... As pure as it gets, a background in jazz, now trying to find the borders of the style. Intense as never before, it swings, crushes and touches. To find and experience total freedom.
From the Netherlands, Vivienne Aerts (1986) lives in Boston (USA) and studies at Berklee College of Music. She is among the world's 30 most promising jazz students being admitted to the Global Jazz Institute jazz talent program. Her teachers include renowned jazz artists such as Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, Ed Saindon and Jetro Da Silva. Her music refers to the sounds of the Ella, Duke and Miles. Being occasionally uncategorizable Vivienne is more than a composer and a singer. The flow of her music creates an intimate connection with the audience while she is using lyrics, loops and improvisation. In 2009 was the release of the 1st cd called 'Roofgarden' and her second cd Polaroid (2012) is a snappy Jazz a cappella EP, recorded with Australian electronic producer Geoff Baker.
