Vesela Morova
Vocalist, improviser, vocal teacher, a free-spirited artist looking for inspiring collaborations
About Me
Vesela Morova was born in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, where she discovered jazz music and her
passion for singing. Later on she began her American journey graduated from Clark
University, MA, with a Bachelor of Arts in both International Relations and Music and then
studied voice performance at Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA for three semesters. In
a multicultural music environment Vesela further explored jazz, improvisation, and world
music. She had studied with Christiane Karam, Rhiannon, Anne Peckham, Dominique Eade,
among others.
Since 2012, Vesela has been following her professional path in Bulgaria, performing
extensively in jazz clubs, theaters, and festivals. In 2016, together with legendary Bulgarian
pianist and composer Lyubomir Denev, she released an album (“Night in the Jazz Club”) with
his original music. She has been a guest-performer with big bands and orchestras and has
worked with many of the local jazz greats.
Vesela is also one of the five singers in the only jazz/pop/folk a cappella group in
Bulgaria - Spectrum Vocal Band – who released their second album “Singerprints” in 2021
and also had the honor to be the opening act for The Manhattan Transfer’s show in Bulgaria
in 2018.
Vesela has taken part in vocal improvisation workshops with Christiane Karam and
Rhiannon and had attended Brazilian music workshops with bassist Nilson Matta and
vocalist Celia Vaz. Vesela got her Master’s degree in Voice at the National Academy of Music
in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2018. She has been teaching voice performance at the “Academy of
Music and Dance” in Plovdiv and at the “Music Box Private School” in Sofia for two years
now. Vesela holds a 3-level certification with the LoVetri Method – “Somatic Voicework”.
