About Me
Music connects us to our feelings and to one another as human beings. I consider it the most meaningful activity to engage in, and I have pursued it for over 40 years. As a musician and composer, I am interested in exploring music in a broad, creative, and mindful way, using the present moment as the starting point. I have published 18 albums of my compositions, two of which were DMA-jazz-nominated in 2013 and 2014. Music has taken me to more than 20 countries, and I have composed for various ensembles, TV series, documentaries, and commercials. From 2011 to 2014, I had the privilege of serving as musical director for the legendary Danish singer-songwriter and film director, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen. “Torben Westergaard‘s charismatic concoction of Nordic jazz and Argentinean tango just keeps getting stronger and more refined. I have written about creativity and learning, delivering presentations that situate musically creative skills within broader contexts.
