About Me

TIM WOLFE, JR. keeps a busy schedule as a performer, recording artist, and educator based out of Philadelphia. Equally comfortable on double bass and electric bass, and fitting in any musical situation, from jazz to orchestral, theater to rock bands, Tim has played in a variety of settings and styles all along the Eastern seaboard and internationally. He holds a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from The University of the Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in music from Lebanon Valley College. In addition to keeping a busy performing schedule, he is an Adjunct Professor of Music at Lebanon Valley College. Working with students of all ages, Tim teaches workshops, clinics, and master classes at high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey as well as keeping a busy private teaching studio. As a bandleader and composer he self-produced and independently released his debut CD, Topics of Conversation, in 2014. A new album with his brother, guitarist Matt Wolfe, titled DUETS, VOL. 1 is out now.

My Jazz Story

My first experience with jazz was Christmas when I was 13. My dad gave me a copy of Charles Mingus' live album Mingus at the Bohemia. I was floored by the energy and power of his bass playing. It's still one of my favorite albums after all these years!

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
