My Jazz Story
I was first exposed to jazz... a little bit from my Dad who claimed to have gone to house parties where Art Tatum played. More from a step-brother
who
blew me away with Django records.
The best show I ever attended was... 1973 dedication of Louis Armstrong stadium ... Louis Armstrong day in NYC
My son studied with Terrence Brewer (among others), really nice guy, we saw him play at SF Jazz Center one night.
When I was young I was a major Oscar Peterson freak. Also heavily into Duke Ellington. Listen to a lot more "modern" fusiony stuff now.
