About Me

retired college professor, avid cyclist, amateur pianist, live music lover

Native Texan from Waco (home of Bobby Blues Bland) raised on classical music. Switched to blues & jazz at age 60 and enjoying life as a converted pianist. Empty nester but no grand children. Ride my bicycle recreationally 1000s of miles each year - particularly love cross-state multi-day rides (Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, North Carolina). Listen to jazz, seek out live concerts in every city we visit (Tokyo, St. Louis, Seattle, Chicago, Milwaukee, Washington DC, etc.). Lover of beautiful gardens historic and contemporary and always visit local gardens while traveling. Led study abroad programs for landscape architecture & urban planning students for 25 years so have enjoyed live music in multiple European cities, mostly Germany, Netherlands, Italy & France. Speak Italian and German.
