Although my playing career has been mainly in the fields of soul jazz, funk and blues, I actually started out playing classic New Orleans jazz at venues in London like the Soho Skiffle Cellar, Jimmy Tates , and the Café des Artistes, alongside musicians like Sandy Brown, Bruce Turner and Diz Disley. I still have an entry in the International Encyclopaedia of Jazz for a session made on Esquire records at that time. Since then I’ve has worked as both leader and sideman in many jazz and blues outfits and my CV includes a live appearance with The Blues Connection on the Paul Jones radio show and a guest appearance on the album “Each Long Day” by the Australian blues singer Geoff Achison.
