Tamara Yadao

About Me

An artist and writer defined by constant motion in process and practice, Filipino-American composer/musician, Tamara Yadao considers herself a visual thinker first and foremost. This approach has informed the whole of her writing and music, which incorporates free improv, performance art, repurposed objects/toys and processed instruments. She began playing piano at the age of 4 and is active in several NYC-based music circles with experimental ensembles rahrahree!, Frogwell and foci + loci, as well as her chiptune-adjacent, avant-pop project, Corset Lore. Among others, she has performed her music at Brown University, Centre Pompidou in Paris, MoMA/PS1 NYC and presented her work at Dartmouth College, the Museum of Arts & Design and MassArt.
