About Me

Sylvia Hallett works as a composer, frequently working with choreographers (h2dance)and has also written music for BBC radio drama. In her work as an improviser she uses several instruments - violin, viola, saw, and also the more unusual bowed bicycle wheel all with electronic effects pedals. She performs solo, with improvising dancers (Eva Karczag, Miranda Tufnell) and in duos with Mike Adcock, with Clive Bell, with Anna Homler, and in the string trio ARC. She also sometimes performs with the London Improvisers Orchestra. She has recorded solo and duo/trio albums on EMANEM and ORCHESTRA PIT labels.
