My Jazz Story

I love jazz because it is food for my soul. I was first exposed to jazz in 1986, through a dancer friend who hipped me to Jazz Mobile in Harlem. I met Jon Hendricks, Carlene Ray, Dr. Billy Taylor, Ron Carter, and Richard Harper, Wynton Marsalis, Betty Carter, Bradford Marsalis, Jimmy Vass, Jimmy Lovelace, Clifford Barbaro. The best show I ever attended was a Betty Carter show in Italy. The first jazz record I bought was a Betty Cater Record. My advice to new listeners.."Stay very true to yourself and what you enjoy in terms of Jazz music".
