Steve is a jazz music producer, recording engineer and educator.
Producer/recording engineer Steve Bellamy is the founder of Addo Records. He has engineered or produced more than 200 commercial recordings and has worked with artists such as Kirk MacDonald, Ted Quinlan, Brian Dickinson, Chet Doxas, Jim Doxas, Dave Douglas, Steve Swallow, Donny McCaslin, John Stetch, Kieran Overs, Mike Downes, Anton Kuerti, Isabel Bayrakdarian, James Ehnes, the Gryphon Trio, and Tafelmusik. Many of his recordings have received JUNO awards and nominations. Bellamy received his Master of Music degree from McGill University where he studied sound recording with Wieslaw Woszczyk, Steve Epstein, and George Massenburg. He has a Bachelor of Music degree in saxophone from the University of Prince Edward Island, and is currently completing his PhD in music technology and psychology from York University. He has been on faculty at McGill University, The Jackie MacLean Institute at the University of Hartford, The Banff Centre, and Humber College in Toronto, where he is currently Dean of Creative & Performing Arts. Awards Several albums engineered or produced by Steve Bellamy have won or been nominated for Canada's JUNO award.
