About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it is a beautiful art
form. I also really appreciate all the
friendships I have formed through
music. I was first exposed to jazz by my
teacher Graham Beyer during my 1st
year of high school. I met the late great
Hugh Masekela in Maputo,
Mozambique in 2014. He was really
nice! The best show I ever attended
was the Cape Town International Jazz
Festival in 2006. The first jazz record I
bought was John Fedchock's No
Nonsense album with the New York Big
Band. My advice to new listeners is take
your time enjoying different albums,
you will eventually find a sound that
resonates with you and will help to
form your individual sound concept.
