Shueh-li Ong

Songwriter, producer, synthesist & thereminist all wrapped up in one Austral-Asian chick

About Me

Shueh-li (Shelley) is an electronic musician and recording artist, composer and producer, with one foot in the world of musicology and the other on the concert stage. She wrote, recorded and produced three CDs under the Xenovibes moniker, before releasing material under her name. MissOriented Metaphor, the latest, was released on 29th June 2024. The album is nicknamed “the concerto” due to its six movements of various sections bearing solo cadenzas. MissOriented Metaphor features Shueh-li’s undeniable writing, performing and production style, and her penchant for sound design and odd time-signatures in Jazz Fusion, Rock, Prog, Electronic and other exotic pieces. This Australian born Singapore artist, who lives in the USA, is a multi-instrumentalist and world-class thereminist, whose theremin playing also appears on multi-Grammy-winning album La Conquista del Espacio by Fito Páez.

Shueh-li is also founder & leader of Xenovibes (electronic-progressive band.) She is happy to be making music wherever she goes!
