My Jazz Story
I love jazz because...I am a storyteller and with each song, and each set, I hone my personal narrative through oral histories shared before me.
I was first exposed to jazz...when I was a baby...my house was filled with music. My first specific memory is placed in my dad's blue Honda convertible on the way to Lakers Games listening to Brubeck's Take 5.
The best show I ever attended was...who can even answer that!?
The first jazz record I ever personally fell in love with was...Ella & Louis. I was 12 years old.
My advice to new listeners...is to LISTEN. For some that's active process and for others the action is more passive.
Or whatever else you have in mind.
