About Me
The 80's where live houses were more crowded with many audiences. As a leader, guitarist Shinobu Ito, who lives in New York, was also playing around in the city regularly & mostly at PAT'S in Midtown those days. His CD / ONE LIFE TO LIVE recorded live in Tokyo in 1991 was once reviewed as a legendary live recording of Roppongi Pit Inn, but this MIDNIGHT SESSION was recorded live in NYC in 1989 which was two years back. This night's fiery fusion live that begins with the rumbling of a large customer conversation makes the listeners feel like as if they are listening to music in New York City at the time. CD: LEGENDARY LIVE 1991 at ROPPONGI PIT INN /Tokyo, JAPAN This recording was originally published in 2001 as ONE LIFE TO LIVE at ROPPONGI PIT INN 1991 which was recorded 2 years after his prior CD: MIDNIGHT SESSION / LIVE AT PAT'S N.Y.C.1989 published in 2019 and it's been out of print for a long time. This is the reissued version with 3 unpublished tracks added. The music starts with fantastic fusion to some smooth jazz, then finally the music goes to fired up tempo's be-bop. With these Japanese top class players like Hidefumi Toki, Ken Shima, Kenji Takamizu and Yuichi Togashiki & some others, all the members got so tight in pocket under the control of Shinobu & showing their best supporting skills to him in this live.
