About Me

A vocalist/pianist who desperately combats the darkness of his own mediocrity.

A Kansas City native, Sean Dietrich grew up playing and singing Gospel music in the church from as early as he can remember. At age nine, Sean's father bought for him an old and beaten-up piano from an elderly blind local pianist and the jazz music scene hasn't been the same since. Sean has received national recognition for his musical and vocal talents, placing in the Phillips National Jazz Piano Competition, performing on NPR, PBS, and other colorful venues, and with some of the finest musicians in the country, including members from the Phil Woods quartet. In the Summer of 2007 Dietrich was exclusively contracted by R&B recording artist Usher to perform at his privately owned restaurants in the metropolitan Atlanta area, gaining an audience in the “Gate City of the South” Currently Sean Dietrich concentrates intently on composition, the music of his trio, and a performance schedule in the Southeast region.
