My Jazz Story
I met Jack Brownlow at his gig at Canlis
Restaurant. I was the parking valet and I
told him I
play too. For about six months together
we went to all the new movies during the
day, then
music the rest of the time. He told me I
had become a member of an elite club in
jazz, more
so than pop music. I learned and got used
too jazz jargon, artists, charts and
changes,
my
own style, and of course tons of technique
drills. Although he is now gone, many of
my
peers hail a degree from Jack's "play your
ass" school.
