I was first exposed to jazz by my Dad when I was very little.I fell in love with it immediately. At first it was Brasilian music and piano jazz at first. I would stay up late a night to hear the jazz shows instead of going to sleep. My uncle also brought me promo stuff from a radio station in NY) and I remember how cool it was to hear music that spoke to my soul. I listen to many different styles of music from Grieg, Yo Yo Ma, J Dilla, Alice in Chains, Laura Nyro, 80's Brit pop and many others but jazz, because it is part of my cultural heritage, means more to me than I words can explain.
