I love jazz because... the music is so expressive! The composers, the instrumentalists, the singers, the producers all contribute to bringing great sounds, feelings, and inspiration to people everywhere on this planet. American Culture took the best of every musical idea from all over the world and turned it into what we call "jazz". Swing... Cool ...Out... Avant Garde ... Fusion ... Smooth... Americans created a whole new generation of sounds! I was first exposed to jazz... I grew up with jazz-loving parents who heard Charlie Parker live, loved Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Della Reese, Dinah Washington, Lena Horn, hearing them live and many other singers and instrumentalists. My mother was a Frank Sinatra fan big time, that's what was playing in the house. I met [musician name]... The best show I ever attended was... The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners... Or whatever else you have in mind.
