My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it makes me feel free and alive. When my mind is filled with
thoughts and chaos I listen to some bop and feel free and relaxed again. For me jazz
music has a similar effect as being in love, it fills my heart with sunshine and joy.
I was first exposed to jazz through soul and hiphop music. I just loved the jazzy trumpet
solo's etc and the jazz samples they would use and slowly I started to discover jazz.
At first I listened to artists like Chet Baker, Miles Davis and Stan Getz and that was
already fantastic. Later on I bumped into a Mingus video with the live version of 'Flowers
for a lady' and I was totally blown away. From that day on I've been in love with jazz
music.
