About Me
My Jazz Story
When I was little, my father brought back music albums from different countries wherever he served with the Canadian Navy. My first exposure to music was listening to Rosemary Clooney, Petula Clark and Miriam Makeba, learning every lyric to every song and performing those songs at every opportunity for my parents and their friends in my 6-year-old jammies in the middle of the living room rug on Saturday nights. I developed an early affinity for jazz standards listening to Ella, Chick, Joni, Jaco, Dizzy and many other great artists. There are many wonderful music genres, but I consider jazz the 'sweet spot' of music globally.
