Sam Sherry is a jazz bass player and jazz composer from Portland, Maine.
About Me
Over the past thirty years, I've been privileged record and perform with some well-known players -- for example, Jimmy Heath, Curtis Fuller, Bill Pierce and Jerry Bergonzi -- and countless musicians who “deserve wider recognition.”
My music focuses on melodic modern jazz. My aim as a composer is to give audiences enough material to guide their journey through a song and to give musicians all they need to take flight. My aim as a player is, of course, to participate in the moment and continue to grow both technically and as a channel for moving jazz music.
