Ryan Meagher

The first jazz record I bought was John Coltrane's "Blue Trane." I bought it at a table selling merch at a jazz festival I was attending as a young kid in band. I didn't know his music at all, but had recently heard his name in the movie, "Mr. Holland's Opus." I put the CD in my DiscMan in the back of the bus between Fullerton and San Jose, and my world was changed forever. I still remember the exact moment on the title track that made me decide to pursue becoming a jazz musician as my career. That lick still gives me goosebumps.
