Ryan Burns
Ryan Burns is a keyboard player, jazz educator from Seattle, WA.
About Me
I live in Seattle, Wa, and play keyboards. I own and operate Burien School of Music, and was
schooled myself at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I write the column Listen To This! for
AAJ, which is a cross between a musician-to-musician interview and a blindfold test.
Inspired by Art Taylor's book “Notes and Tones,” the column represents the majority of the
writing I do for AAJ.
I have performed with Rock and Roll Hall- of-Famers Jimmy Page, Matt Cameron, Mike
McCready, Ann & Nancy Wilson, Chad Smith, Rick Nielson and Duff MacKagan; as well as
with elite jazz artists such as Wayne Horvitz, Skerik, Matt Jorgensen, Thomas Marriott,
Bobby Previte, Bobby Watson and others.
