About Me

Rose Tait is a London based Jazz singer and songwriter. Rose has been writing songs with musician Nigel Goulding since 2004. They successfully released “The One” in 2010, a collection of original songs and Rose's interpretation of three standards. Rose writes both words and music whilst Nigel produces the songs, accompanies on the piano and records in his studio. Rose also regularly performs in North London Jazz venues. Their collaboration has produced this debut album of 10 original songs by Rose Tait and 3 bonus tracks of Jazz standards. Her latest offering “Bon Appetit” is about to launch (September 2014). Inspired by Viennese café culture, smatterings of accordion along with hints of Delta Blues make this long-awaited CD a real treat for Jazz lovers.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because..it echoes the rhythms of my soul. I was first exposed to jazz... by a Tarzan movie! Shorty Rogers wrote the score for a whole roomful of Cuban percussionists - as a kid, I was blown away I met [musician name]...Annie Ross, backstage at Ronnie Scott's The best show I ever attended was...Ray Charles The first jazz record I bought was... Charled Mingus Ah-Um My advice to new listeners... Listen to what you LIKE, not what you feel you should. Your ear will grow Or whatever else you have in mind. Jazz is a joy, a solace, a celebration, a communion of souls, a community of friends, a way of life.
