I love jazz because it is America's classical music, America's gift to the world. I was first exposed to jazz at a very young age. My grandfather, Vic Dickenson, was my main influence. He was a gifted trombone player from the 1930s through the mid 1980s. I met [musician name]... The best show I ever attended was... The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners...
