Born at Scottish home address, discovered blues (and the music of that name) and jazz; studied philosophy in Edinburgh, taught philosophy at Strathclyde, Jazz at Glasgow universities. Studied classical singing and will take gigs as bass-baritone (or bass OR baritone) performer and recorded reader of Scots verse. Blues pianist, freelance author, contributor to reference books, mostly philosophy. Other web-writing gig on popmatters.com -- literary critic, one collection of poems (Serapion, 1996).
