About Me
I'm an American jazz writer based in Barcelona. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and became a regular fixture in Manhattan jazz clubs like the Village Vanguard, Birdland and the Iridium. A one-time member of the Merchant Marine, I'm an harmonica player who once sat in with the great Lester Young. A frequent visitor to jazz festivals from Panama to Norway, my music writing has appeared in a wide range of publications including All About Jazz.
