About Me

Reduta Jazz Club

Since 1958 Reduta Jazz Club brings the very best of the world jazz music and is presently one of the oldes jazz clubs in the whole Europe. Since its very start the priority of the club were also quite original and famous theatre performances. But the most famous were the big band shows - their sound is so incredible that you easily forget you're not part of the band. Although you are, as you stay in a constant touch with all musicians and anticipate that without you, the show wouldn't be possible. So it's the cooperation of you as the spectator and the musicians that makes every evening absolutely unique. Reduta also cooperates with leading art agency, Pragokoncert Bohemia, and the result was one and only International Jazz Festival Praha, the oldest jazz fest in the Czech Republic and one of the oldest and best in Europe. To appear in such event is considered to be great privilege, as the list of past performers proves - Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Tony Bennet, Dave Brubeck, B. B. King, Alfred Mangesdorf, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Boris Kozlov, to name only a few. The experience of it is unforgettable. But the Czech stars are not standing aside, and Reduta is also offering a chance to young talented musicians to show themselves at Czech Jazz Contest. The club itself is hosting many other styles than jazz, almost everything - from pop, funk, soul or blues, everyone can find the most favourite. And if you still hesitate to pay a visit to us, know that numbers of politics, businessmans, diplomatists or artist from the whole world didn't hesitate a second. The American president Bill Clinton was our guest and he didn't resist to play his own saxophone solos in the club. Later he was accompanied by presidents Václav Havel or Václav Klaus. And let's not forget about our other important guests, Brasilian president Fernando Cardoso, Irish president Mary Robinson, or American Minister of Foreign Affairs Madeleine Albright. But every guest is important, no matter who he is. The music production starts approximately at 9:30pm and ends after midnight - those two and half hours will be the best in your life. For greater pleasure we offer many alcoholical and non-alcoholical drinks. Not to mention that our beer is drawed stright from the saxophone in the Saxophone bar. We genuinely hope to see you soon!
