I love jazz because... It comes from the subjective soul. From there, it goes out to the universe. Quantum Field Theory acknowledges this by asserting that the universe is composed of 17 particle fields and around a half dozen force fields, nothing else. When an electron for instance, vibrates, the whole electron field throughout the universe vibrates along with it as do each of the fields on their own and in concert. Jazz, as far as I understand it, is therefore a direct route from the soul to the universe, the notes didn't exist until they were played and the impetus for their being played was conceived and born in the heart and mind. Jazz comes from the noumenon - The Tao. Brain and body play an objective supporting role. Jazz is a gift, jazz is a prayer, jazz is part of everything that is. What better gift to send?
