I love jazz because of it's American heritage and it makes me smile... I was first exposed to jazz the day I was born probably. Dad always had the Macintosh pumpin his old Electrovoice.. Bix or Pee Wee or Fats. I met Kenny Davern w/ Bob Wilber at our 5th Atlanta Jazz Party back in 1995 I think... The best show I ever attended was last years Atlanta Jazz Party...somehow they keep getting better. The first jazz record I bought was given to me...When you have a few hours I'll explain My advice to new listeners...open your mind. Go see it live and you will then understand. Start with some Lionel Hampton, throw in a little Django and don't forget Lady Day, Satch, Ella and and the Etta's both.
