I love jazz because after first exposure to jazz as a kid hearing Satchmo then playing tenor & soprano in a jazz band featuring Duke Ellington & Miles Davis standards. I met Dexter Gordon in San Diego in 1982. Perhaps the best shows I ever attended were the 5 Pat Metheny concerts & the 3 Jan Garbarek shows, including in Greven in Germany in September 2022 when he opened the inaugural Ems Jazz Festival. The first jazz record I bought was Coltrane Plays The Blues.
