About Me

In addition to my scholarly work, I often write for newspapers and magazines, including the WSJ, NYT, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Le Monde Diplomatique, Foreign Policy, CounterPunch, World Affairs, Prospect, NY Daily News, etc. I’m a native Chicagoan and have written on music for Living Blues, The Griot, CounterPunch, and Southern Cultures.
