Paul Hession is a drummer from Leeds who began playing the drums as a fifteen year old. He is largely self-taught and his early experience was on the working men's club circuit in the North of England. Since embracing jazz in the late seventies, he followed his muse into free playing and has worked with many high profile musicians, such as Peter Brotzmann, Evan Parker, Derek Bailey, Joe McPhee, Lol Coxhill, Marshall Allen & Sonny Simmons and (from a slightly different scene) Squarepusher.
