My Jazz Story
I love jazz because...there's no other music I've found that stirs my emotions as jazz does.
I was first exposed to jazz...in a music appreciation class.
I met Ira Sullivan...what a gas! He took all the time in the world for me and made me feel as if I was the most important person in the room.
The best show I ever attended was...top 3: Les DeMerle, Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Charlie Harrington.
The first jazz record I bought was...Ascenseur Pour L'Échafaud - Mile Davis
My advice to new listeners...explore, branch out, and always return to the roots if you are lost.
