Mizuho Uchiyama is a seasoned force in the global jazz community and the Executive Director of
JazzPacific, a leading organization dedicated to the promotion and development of jazz
worldwide. With a career spanning decades, Uchiyama has been instrumental in shaping the
sound and direction of contemporary jazz, producing critically acclaimed albums for NEA Jazz
Master Elise Marsalis and contributing to landmark projects under the legendary Blue Note
Records Group.
Uchiyama began her journey in the music industry at New York City’s iconic HighNote Records,
where she developed a deep reverence for jazz heritage and honed her craft in music production.
Her talent and vision soon propelled her into key production roles, including serving as producer
for the prestigious Elise Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition and spearheading the
inaugural international jazz festival in West Virginia—an event that marked a significant
milestone for jazz in the region.
