I love jazz because... It swings, it uses wonderful melodies and has sophisticated harmony.
I was first exposed to jazz... at 12 years old I was played a Louis Armstrong Hot Five record
and was hooked
The best show I ever attended was...Carmen McCrae at The Great American Music Hall
The first jazz record I bought was...Acker Bilk - That's My Home
My advice to new listeners... learn a million songs!
